It seems like race relations continues to be a behind the curtain issue. Unbeknownst or in denial to many, the impact of slavery still weighs very heavily on our family’s lineage. Toni, Co-hosts Denise Arbesu and Sylvia Wong chat with Elizabeth Sturgess-LLerena, Julie Finch and Mitchell Wu on how to confront the legacy of slavery in order to truly reconcile in the present and move forward. Sylvia, Julie and Elizabeth share with the panel their involvement in with Coming to The Table a diverse and very active group passionate about researching and discovering one’s family history and involvement in slavery. Mitchell also leads the panel to analyze the “divide and conquer “mentality and how it creates a disconnect between races and opportunity. The candid conversation delves into the notion of “white privilege,” and the complexities that transpire from it. This is definitely a must see!
